Rhett Miller (not to be confused with Blue) is a young human man living in UV-00282 New York.
His hair is greasy and flat, going just past his neck, with his bangs hanging over one eye. He has dark brown eyes, which usually have bags under them, and some facial hair. He usually looks very flat and emotionless, commonly shown to be frowning and scowling. He has a semi-square face and a long, solid nose. Rhett usually wears a zipped-up blue jacket, jeans with a yellow patch on the knee, and checkered sneakers.
In Amity, his username is 'linkin park stan', alluding to his favorite band. He types in lower case, though ends his sentences in periods for the intimidation factor. His icon is of a blue devil.
His younger brother, Roy Miller, sets off the events of PROLEGOMENON by opening SEED before he's meant to and revealing the true nature of the game. Rhett volunteers to be among the first people to enter the game, in order to ensure Roy was safe.
PERSONALITY
Rhett is rather blunt, direct, and has little patience for jokes and gags. He's a no-nonsense type of personality, cutting straight to the chase and refusing to engage with bullshit. This is especially strong when he's trying to act to protect somebody else (or if he thinks he is), especially his brother, Roy, and his best friend, Sofia Suaviter. Rhett doesn't particularly focus on taking care of himself, instead preferring to go directly to the most obvious solution to solve issues. He's cold to his friends, though he's shown to care about them, as he worries about upsetting Amada Trejo in Episode 2.
He likes listening to music, especially Linkin Park, claiming the lead singer is the only person to truly understand the darkness of Rhett's soul. Rhett also roleplays, though this is a hobby he doesn't talk about, for fear of coming off as 'cringe'. This hobby is how he met Sofia, and the rest of the group. He tends to overlook what those around him want, acting in ways that he believes will protect them best, ignoring their input. This leads to some friction between him and his brother, especially.
Rhett experiences DID, and shares a system and body with Reed Miller. He experienced heavy abuse at the hands of his father, most of which he took on in an attempt to protect Roy and Reed from the violence. These experiences influence a lot of what Rhett acts like and believes in, and despite how angsty he is, he avoids getting mad as much as he can.
TIMELINE
Pre-PROLEGOMENON
At some point in Reed's childhood - between the ages of 8 to 10 years old - Rhett splits off from em, after a traumatic incident. He's immediately very hyper protective of Reed and Roy, hopping in both physically and mentally to take any tolls their father enacts on them. He does his best to draw out his father's aggression before he can take it out on anyone else, which leads to a lot of unhappy incidents.
Not long after Rhett begins coming around, he meets Sofia on a furry roleplay forum he'd joined as a joke. Sofia is very earnest and takes their roleplay seriously, even though Rhett's obviously fucking around. However, bud's kindness gets to him, and he finds himself genuinely engaging with bud and acting like friends. Bud introduces him to the rest of the friend group, and the two become best friends.
Roy confides some mental health struggles to Rhett when he's a teenager, prompting him to add Roy to the group chat in an attempt to keep him from hurting himself.
On Rhett's 18th birthday, he bites the bullet and asks their father for custody of Roy, so that he can move Roy out of the house with him. To his surprise, their father agrees, so Rhett brings Roy with him when he moves to his own apartment. Roy treats him rather coldly for this for a few years, not understanding why Rhett uprooted his life. Rhett regrets rushing the situation, but he won't apologize for it.
PROLEGOMENON
Rhett only shows up for a short amount of time in Episode 1, just to ask Roy what his present for Diego Suaviter would be for its birthday.
His appearances are limited to text-only until midway through Episode 2, in which he's mostly just depicted worrying about Roy's safety and wellbeing.

RELATIONSHIPS
Roy Miller
Roy is Rhett's younger brother. He split when Roy was a little kid, causing him to get very protective of Roy's safety and wellbeing, hoping to prevent him from being hurt. Rhett doesn't understand why Roy's grown rude and resistant to this input in recent years, and it really concerns him. He has trouble viewing Roy as anything but that little kid he'd hide in the closet when their dad was mad.
After their discussion in Episode 4, Rhett tries to give Roy a little more space. He worries about the distance after PROLEGOMENON.
Reed Miller
Two sides of the same coin, Reed is Rhett's co-host in their system. He thinks Reed holds him back too much, and doesn't give him space to do his thing - which kind of annoys him a lot. He doesn't think that ey understand his perspective on things, and that ey don't have faith in him to get them through tough times.
He respects Reed's input, though, always. He wouldn't do anything ey wouldn't want him to do.
Sofia Suaviter
They're best friends, and have been since they were both kids. Sofia's been there for Rhett through thick and thin, and he feels like he owes bud a great debt he seeks to repay. Bud was one of the first people who were kind to him, outside of his own head at least, and that'll always mean the world to Rhett.
He was in on Sofia's bombing plan from the very start, and defends bud vehemently against the rest of the players, causing some rifts to form in the group. Rhett blocks Yua Matsuo as well when she attacks bud, being only one of two people to do so.
Julio Diaz
Despite being super emotionally constipated, Rhett does have a sort-of crush on Julio Diaz, which grows as the game progresses. He has trouble acting on his feelings, worried that Julio will reject him, so he doesn't bring them up for a very long time. After the events of Episode 3, Rhett makes a point of hanging out more with Julio.
The two grow close, though they don't get romantically involved during the events of PROLEGOMENON.
The Players
Rhett doesn't seem to have many warm fuzzies about the people beyond his direct friend circle, though he's willing to help them out if he's pushed into it. His prickly personality turns some of them off, which he doesn't mind - it's on purpose, to filter out the people he hangs out with. He does find them all to be pretty funny to watch, though.
He's one of the biggest speakers for Sofia's defense after the bombing attempt, and goes scorched earth on Yua and those on her side. Rhett's only pulled back around into getting along with the rest by Julio's insistence and Sofia's death.
TRIVIA
Rhett's favorite song is Numb.
Rhett used to be the protagonist, in PROTO-LEGOMENON. He was much younger, and much worse.
Technically speaking, Rhett is a persecutor - he doesn't believe in that kind of terminology, though.
