Diego Suaviter (not to be confused with Ghost) is a young human man living in UV-00282 Guåhan.
Its hair is a light brown/dirty blonde color, and is kept short and tidy by the power of hair gel. It has brown eyes kept behind square-shaped glasses with a dark brown rim. Its skin is light, and its cheeks have freckles across them. Diego heavily resembles its sibling, Sofia Suaviter, and its father, Cane. It typically wears a dark brown jacket, a gray band T-shirt, cargo shorts, and dark brown boots.
As the story progresses and Diego is exposed to The Big U more, golden glowing stripes appear around its eyes.
In Amity, Diego's screen name is 'diggy', a nickname that its friends call it. It types in lowercase with proper punctuation, and its icon is a yellow-orange ghost outline.
On Diego's 23rd birthday, its friends Cherry Thaxton and Amada Trejo design a game to play together on, which leads to the events of PROLEGOMENON.
Diego is a no-nonsense character, talking directly to other players in the game rather than dancing around issues it experiences. On an emotional level, it flounders, though - Diego's pretty emotionally distant from those around it, prefering to ignore its birthday rather than celebrate with its friends. It's also clear Diego struggles to understand its own emotions, which makes it uncomfortable. On the flip side, Diego's fantastic at sniffing out bullshit and calling it out where it sees it, and doesn't flinch away from hard conversations except for very few exceptions. It's overly protective of Sofia, treating bud like a child due to their relationship, though it knows it can't control bud.
It's claimed the garage in the house it and Sofia live in, which it's filled with various tools that help it work on machinery and tinker. Diego's also got a passing interest in ghost hunting, though this is not a hobby it discusses with its friend group often, as Rhett Miller tends to be an asshole about the subject. When it's relaxing, it plays MMOs, which is where it's implied it met Dina Becher - on the same day as its birthday some time ago.
While it was some time ago, it's clear that Diego's been affected by the death of its mother, and that family is very important to it as a result. It's shown to be too intimidated/nervous to go into its mothers room at the start of its adventure in PROLEGOMENON, and it refuses to discuss the subject with Sofia. Despite the fact that its father abandoned it, Diego stays in touch with its father as much as it can, as well as with its half-siblings across the globe.
Pre-PROLEGOMENON
Diego was born to Cane Suaviter Sr. and his wife (at the time) in late 1997. Being initially raised in Houston, Texas, Diego's father - a businessman and entrepreneur - moves the family to Guåhan, in the hopes of being chosen to take on a military contract with the U.S. there. When he wasn't selected for the contract and lost the bid, he wound up leaving the island and his family to return to the mainland. For a long time, it's only Diego, Sofia, and their mother.
When it turns 15, Diego's mother starts growing sick, and has to quit her job due to declining health. In order to ensure the family is cared for, Diego picks up random jobs around the island, working multiple part-time jobs for the income. It nearly flunks out of school due to how much it skips class, and the overexertion takes tolls on its health. This is brought to an end when, five years later, shortly after Sofia's birthday, their mother passes.
After her death, Sofia runs off to Texas, leaving Diego to an empty house for several months. In an impulsive fit, Diego gets itself into a car accident, which results in a significant loss of hearing - while it's still able to hear somewhat, it can't understand without visual or hearing aid.

Sofia Suaviter
Sofia is Diego's younger sibling. While the two were closer in their childhood, their differences in adulthood causes friction between them, leading to a distance between the two. Despite this, Diego still knows Sofia very well, and can read bud with ease. It ultimately wants the best for Sofia, and wants bud to know that everything it does is out of love.
After Sofia's murder in Episode 3, Diego blocks Yua Matsuo, though is blocked by Sofia at the same time. This causes a lot of distress for it, and it can't understand why bud did that, especially when it wanted nothing more than to be there for bud. The two do not get a chance to reconcile before the events of the epilogue.
Aldrich Montgomery
The two are very close, with Diego asking Amada frequently about Aldrich Montgomery in order to learn more about them and find excuses to hang out. It's clear that Diego has a crush on Aldrich - even Sofia comments on it. Over the course of the story, Diego does eventually confess its feelings to Aldrich, which leads to the two becoming involved.
When Diego turns into a hermit after Sofia's block, Aldrich is the person to draw it back out again. It clearly thinks highly of Aldrich and their opinion of it. It supports them through their gender exploration.
Dina Becher
The two met through playing video games against each other, and are engaged in banter pretty frequently for fun. Both have a dry sense of humor, and bounce off each other well. Diego holds Dina at an arm's length like it does with everyone it cares about, though Dina is the only person who understands this and what it means.
When the two are seemingly the only ones who communicate with The Big U, they become even closer friends.
Yua Matsuo
Prior to the events of Episode 3, the two were on friendly terms, or as friendly as Diego is with those it doesn't talk to frequently.
After Yua kills Sofia, Diego blocks her, after chewing her out for her actions. It does not change its position on this issue, even after Sofia's betrayal of the group, and clearly blames Yua for Sofia's death as well.
The Players
Diego doesn't talk to other players directly unless it needs to, and finds no issue in this arrangement - it doesn't seem particularly close to every member of the group. It even butts heads with some of the other players, such as Rhett, on a normal basis.
Diego's shirt is merch for its half-brother Tino's band, DROP DEAD.
In the initial version of PROLEGOMENON, Diego was a dead ghost.
Its favorite existentialist philosopher is Jean-Paul Sartre.
