Villager Species: Wolf
Dina Becher (not to be confused with Glitch) is a young human living in California in UV-00282.
Its brown hair is kept in shoulder-length dreads, with some pinned back out of its face by a pale olive-colored bow. The front dread across its forehead is dyed a bright green. Dina's eyes are a green-hazel color, and its skin is a lighter brown color, with no blemishes. Its face is slightly pointed, and it's very small in height and stature, giving off a sort of doll-like appearance.
As the story progresses and Dina is exposed to the Big U more often, golden cracks begin leaking from its eyes.
Its icon is the green outline of a video game controller, and its username is 'gamer gf'. It types pretty flatly and plainly, with little embellishment or flourish to it.
When the last month of 2020 rolls around, Dina's friend group plays a homemade game that takes them to another universe, causing the events of PROLEGOMENON. Dina agrees to play the game after its true nature has been discovered, saying the situation they're in was funny.
Dina's well known among its friend group for being direct and kind of rude, finding enjoyment in trolling its friends more than hanging out with them. It has a hard time understanding how to make friends, which puts it at a distance from the rest of the players, and leads to it being pretty lonely. It hides this loneliness with excuses of messing with people, enjoying the negative attention and figuring it's better than not having any attention at all. It feels understood by very few people in the world, though one of these valued few is Diego Suaviter, who Dina has a history of picking at. Dina doesn't believe in rules and control, and feels that following due process is kind of fucking stupid.
It likes old video games, and MMORPGs, which is how it met the rest of the group. It's pretty competent at most first person shooter types, though it doesn't enjoy cozy-style games like Animal Crossing - it finds them too slow. Dina also has a big interest in action movies, though this isn't anything it talks about to anyone else. It's pretty embarrassed by this interest, given its movie taste is considerably terrible. It can't help but love campy trash.
Dina's relationship with its family is completely severed, and it lives on its own with few friends in real life. It also suffers from psychosis, which is only exacerbated by the events of PROLEGOMENON, especially given its adjacency to the Big U.
Pre-PROLEGOMENON
Being raised by unhappy parents in an unhappy house, Dina does not think of its childhood or history. Its parents were two people who didn't want another child, and its siblings were three children who didn't want another sibling. It was heavily aware of this through its upbringing.
When Dina turned 11, it got into a new MMORPG, which became its biggest escape mechanism. Through this MMORPG, it met Aldrich Montgomery and Jesse Lakatos, and the three formed a little club together in the game. Through this connection, Dina would eventually be introduced to the rest of the group a year later. This is also how it met Diego, who it became fast friends with due to their shared dark humor.
Upon becoming an adult, Dina moves out as soon as it possibly can from its childhood home and family, to live on the other side of the country in California. It works a minimum wage fast food job while it tries to save up money to go to college for video game design. Dina's been no-contact with its entire family for nearly a year by the time PROLEGOMENON's story begins.
PROLEGOMENON
WIP.
Diego Suaviter
Dina and Diego are close friends, after being introduced through their shared interest in video games and their friendship with Aldrich. Dina's favorite hobby is trying to get under Diego's skin, as the latter always gives flat responses and a solid poker face. It wonders if Diego ever gets bothered by anything, and it thinks Diego's like a rock in the storm.
If it couldn't talk to Diego anymore, it would be very sad. This is a secret it will take to its grave.
Aldrich Montgomery
They were Dina's first Internet friend, and really its first friend period. It thinks Aldrich is pretty geeky, and has fun poking at them for those interests of theirs. Despite the teasing, Dina does think Aldrich is very smart and talented, and loves listening to them talk about different types of magic in fantasy stories. Even if it retains none of this infodumping.
It really hopes Diego makes them happy, and is keeping a close eye on that developing situation.
Jesse Lakatos
Alongside Aldrich, Jesse was the other party member and tank of the trio's gaming experiences as kids. Dina's never quite sure how to conduct itself around Jesse, but something about them makes it feel like it's safe to be open and honest with them, and that they wouldn't share any secrets of Dina's. Jesse probably knows a lot about Dina at this point.
It doesn't want to startle Jesse, so it sits with them in the quiet, like watching a baby deer in the woods.
Yua Matsuo
Prior to the game, Yua Matsuo isn't exactly a person Dina talks to frequently, at least compared to others it knows better. As PROLEGOMENON goes on, Dina finds itself feeling more and more of a connection to Yua, which freaks it the fuck out, especially after the events of Episode 3. It finds her kind of scary, and tries to stay out of her way when it can.
When Yua kills Sofia Suaviter, Dina's pissed at her, and refuses to talk to her for some time. It only reaches back out upon learning of their connection through the Big U.
The Players
Dina is the worst person in the world at showing its affection for others, but its deepest secret is that it cares so deeply for all of its friend group, it almost aches. It wants nothing but the best for its friends, and it tries really hard to encourage them to live lives that they enjoy living. It's happiest when its friends are happy, which is something it'll never say aloud.
The Big U appears to Dina as their default appearance, rather than taking on the appearance of the person Dina cares for most in the world, because of how much it cares on equal levels for all its friends - even those it doesn't understand or agree with in the current moment.
Dina's name means "judge".
It's the only character in the entirety of the BCU - Between crew included - who can bring back a life after death without any difficulty. The only exception is Sofia, due to bud's powers.
Dina grew up on League of Legends.
