REED MILLER

Reed Miller (not to be confused with Lucky) is a young human living in UV-00282 New York.

Ey hold eir hair out of eir face by using a fuzzy blue headband, causing eir black hair to stick up and fall around eir neck. Ey have brown eyes, a long, square nose, a slightly pointed chin, and facial stubble. Ey're usually wearing a gray and black striped T-shirt, with a blue jacket tied around eir waist. Ey wear jeans, which have a yellow patch on one knee, and checkered sneakers.

Eir screenname is 'blue person 3', a joke about how ey share similar coloration to Rhett and Roy Miller. Ey type in lowercase, with the occasional emote to break up the monotony. To match with Rhett, eir icon is that of a little angel figure.

When Roy launches SEED and starts the events of PROLEGOMENON, Reed enters the game as a player with Rhett. It's a pleasant surprise that the game recognizes that Rhett and Reed are separate players, despite the shared situation.

PERSONALITY

Reed's the opposite of Rhett in a lot of ways. Ey're very fun-loving, preferring to take things with an air of humor rather than confront reality. Ey also try eir best to be caring about eir friends, though secretly, Reed truly struggles with empathy due to eir abuse. Ey kind of over-correct for this, by showering eir friends in compliments and gifts, though ey aren't sure how effective this method is. Reed still loves eir friends and fellow players, despite not talking to them directly very often. Ey can be pretty awkward with people when talking to them in DMs, so ey prefer to chat only through the group chat the friends have. Ey hope the others understand where ey're coming from.

Ey enjoy baking and cooking when ey can, which wasn't a hobby ey could indulge in when living with eir father. Due to that, ey don't talk about eir hobby very often, and only really bake for Roy Miller on special occasions. Reed surprisingly doesn't indulge in Rhett's hobbies such as roleplay, finding it a little boring and preferring to write eir own fiction instead.

Reed experiences DID, and shares a system and body with Rhett. Ey experienced heavy abuse at the hands of eir father, splitting multiple alternate personalities to cope with the trauma of this upbringing. After Rhett got them out of that home, Reed's appeared more often again, finding it safer to exist in this new life.

TIMELINE

Pre-PROLEGOMENON

Reed was born to a set of unnamed parents in September of 1998. When eir mother disappeared when ey were a child, eir father started subjecting em to physical and emotional abuse, causing em to develop DID. While Reed split semi-frequently over the years, the most important other alter was Rhett, which took control of Reed's life for a few years between ages 9 - 18. While Reed still checked in now and then, ey let Rhett be the primary personality, shielding em from abuse.

When Rhett is a teen, he tells Sofia Suaviter about Reed, which prompts Reed to introduce emself to Sofia and the group at large. Ey're accepted with open arms, which puts em a bit on edge rather than makes em feel welcomed. Ey struggle to socialize with the others after being quiet for so long (and subjected to terrible things before that too), an issue that carries into PROLEGOMENON's events.

After Rhett moves them out at 18, taking Roy with them, Reed begins fronting more often again. Ey're still very unstable, and drop at any kind of trouble that makes em feel scared or nervous.

RELATIONSHIPS

Roy Miller

Roy is Reed's younger brother. Reed's always done eir best to take care of Roy, and have connected more genuinely with him in the years leading up to PROLEGOMENON's events. Ey were rather secretive before moving out about eir mental state, and while ey still don't clue Roy in too far, ey're glad Roy's aware of it, at least somewhat.

Ey wish Roy would understand what happened with their father. It makes em super uncomfortable when Roy starts lamenting it.

Rhett Miller

Rhett is Reed's alter, and one of the most active ones at that. Ey know why he acts the way he does, but ey find it useless now that they don't live with their father anymore. Reed's grateful to him for what he did to get them all out of the abusive situation, but ey wish he'd listen to eir input some more, especially when it comes to Roy.

Ey would do anything for him, though. Ey know he'd do the same for em too.

Julio Diaz

Things are kind of awkward between Reed and Julio Diaz given Reed's social skills, but Julio picks up the slack where Reed fumbles. Ey find him funny and charming, though ey don't really have any romantic feelings for him, knowing that Rhett's much more interested. Ey try to kind of play wingperson for the two, though ey think Julio already knows what's going on.

Ey keep a polite friendship with Julio, and ey appreciate that he doesn't find em too weird, especially given ey never DM him.

The Players

Given eir lacking social abilities, Reed - while trying eir best - aren't super close with the rest of the players. Despite this, ey do still care about the others, and eir top priority is getting everybody out of the SEED game alive and okay. Ey seem to be well liked enough.

Reed being transfeminine is a nod to a popular headcanon for PROTO-LEGOMENON's version of Rhett.

After moving out, Reed pursued therapy, which helped em learn about Rhett and others.

Reed has five other personalities aside from Rhett, though they're much less prominent: Rufus, Rebecca, Ralph, Rhea, and Romeo.
