Cherry Thaxton (not to be confused with Kitty) is a young human living in UV-00282 London.
Mew has long dark brown hair that ends in an ombre style, which mew typically keeps up in a ponytail. Mew's eyes are a chestnut brown, which mew wears round pink glasses to see. Mew is tanned, with freckles across mew's cheeks, a broad nose, and bushy eyebrows. Usually, mew wears a T-shirt that exposes one shoulder, dark purple leggings, and pink sneakers. In mew's closet is a lot of cat themed clothing items.
Cherry's screen name is 'catgirl ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ', and mew types with lots of abbreviations and simplified wording. Mew's icon is a pink cat wearing a collar.
In December of 2020, Cherry shares a download link to the game mew had designed with Amada Trejo as a birthday gift for Diego Suaviter. The game is patched together from abandoned code projects in mew's parent's video game publishing company, which leads to the events of PROLEGOMENON.
PERSONALITY
Cherry is known to be stubborn among mew's friends, seeing everything life throws at mew as a challenge to be overcome. Mew clearly has affection for mew's friends, and likes to playfully tease them about various topics while talking to them. However, mew has also gotten annoyed in the past and snapped at others, showing that mew won't take any crap lying down. Cherry is exceptionally self-assured among mews friend group, and has full confidence in mew and mew's skills with computer programming and problem solving. This is both a blessing and a curse, as it means mew is very capable, but also extremely incapable of recognizing when mew should ask for help from others, believing mewself to be entirely self-reliant.
Due to being so competitive, mew both makes and plays plenty of video games, especially as mew's parents run a video game publishing company (Thaxton Technologies). Mew has a pet cat named Samuel, a small white cat that mew cares for deeply. Mew grew up with a strong bond to mew's parents and mew doesn't live far from them, lamenting the fact that mew can't talk to them anymore in Episode 3. In an attempt to get closer to Isabelle Davis, Cherry also got into learning about famous artists from history, particularly Claude Monet.
TIMELINE
Pre-PROLEGOMENON
Raised as an only child, Cherry was born to the Thaxtons in early 1998. Mew doesn't touch on mew's upbringing much, though mew clearly loves mews parents and has a strong bond with them. During a period of reflecting in Episode 2, Cherry thinks about how lucky mew is to have such good parents, comparing them to the Miller father and what mew knows of him.
During childhood, Cherry met and befriended Aldrich Montgomery, the child of the Thaxton's lawyers. The two would grow close, and Aldrich would send Cherry mechanical robots to program commands to for fun.
When Cherry was 14, mew discovered Isa's music through an online music hosting service, becoming a huge fan of the artist. As a result, mew commissions Isa to make music for a game mew was designing at the time, and the two have a brief romantic fling. It's confirmed this happens almost immediately before Cherry came out as transgender, though mew didn't get invited to join the group chat until three years later.
In late 2019, Cherry's video game uploads get an uptick in activity, where a reviewer is writing guides as to how to exploit bugs and glitches in each of mew's games. Mew is at first annoyed but then finds this impressive, and contacts this reviewer - who would turn out to be Yua Matsuo - who then invites her to the group chat, now hosted on Amity.
PROLEGOMENON
In Episode 1, Cherry exclusively appears through Amity messages with Roy Miller, giving him the game to download.
Episode 2 opens on Cherry, which introduces the audience to mew, as well as mew's surroundings and the kind of person mew is. Mew spends some time trying to disconnect Roy's phone from the game without success, finally opting to enter the game mewself. After this point, mew appears a few times through Amity messages, especially with Isa.
Most of the section focusing on Cherry in Episode 3 is about mew's attempts to fix the game and allow the players to go home before the mimeo find a solution. Mew heads to the center of Dodecastratum using a glitch to allow mew to leave mew's corner of the land before actually completing mew's personal quest. Here, mew attempts to plug a USB into the machine that holds The Light, which backfires and causes the machine to explode, blasting Cherry back. Mew is injured heavily, but Yua - who has been studying The Light this whole time - appears and kills mew so that mew can respawn. When mew does, mew finds that mew's leg is permanently hurt, and mew has a difficult time putting weight on it. After this, Cherry has a short discussion with Jesse Lakatos before going to stay with Isa while mew recovers.

RELATIONSHIPS
Isabelle Davis
The two had a brief fling prior to both coming out as transgender and lesbians, which Cherry is still not over quite yet. The two talk often, and Cherry often uses Isa to bounce ideas and troubleshoot issues relating to mew's code and debugging process. As Amada points out, the two are clearly still deeply in love with each other, though Cherry is still hesitant to pursue the relationship further.
Isa is also one of the few people in the world who hold Cherry's respect and impress mew, due to being a talented musician.
Amada Trejo
Cherry and Amada worked together on the creation of SEED, though Cherry either contributed more significantly (due to being more proficient at coding) or thinks mew did so. They're shown gossiping together pretty often, with Amada teasing Cherry about mew's feelings about Isa. It wouldn't be surprising to Cherry if Amada had a crush on mew, even though she's never indicated anything like this before.
On the official PROLEGOMENON relationship chart, mew claims Amada could catch up to mew's coding prowess with enough practice, indicating mew is somewhat impressed with her.
Aldrich Montgomery
Due to the two's family connection - the Montgomery parents being lawyers for the Thaxton parents - Aldrich and Cherry have known each other since birth, and are depicted as having grown up together. Aldrich is the person who invited Cherry to the group, introducing mew to the other members of the player team. They work together on projects with Aldrich being proficient at engineering and Cherry's love of programming, though the two antagonize each other with this bonding point, sending each other more and more difficult codes or robots to work with.
Cherry enjoys poking fun at Aldrich, who's capable of firing back easily due to their history.
The Players
Cherry appears to be on reasonably positive terms with the rest of the friend group, despite being a newer addition to the team. Mew tends to tease most of mew's friends, and is known to be a prankster among the group.
After the schism caused by Sofia Suaviter's escape attempt, Cherry - after having attempted to interfere with the machine mewself and being permanently disabled as a result - unsurprisingly takes Yua's side in the issue, stating that they really can't do anything to that machine as long as The Light is spawned.
TRIVIA
Cherry is canonically chronically paranoid, as well as implied to experience delusions. Mew runs excessive security scans on mews devices, and thoroughly tapes up all cameras mew sees.
Samuel, Cherry's cat, is named after my real life cat I grew up with!
