Bonnibelle "Bonnie" Grey is a young woman living in a small town in UV-00282.

Her visual description changes depending on the game she's in. In the first game, her dark brown hair is down to her shoulders, and she wears an orange-brown sweater over a white button-up shirt, a black skirt, and black dress shoes. She has gray eyes and pale skin, with a long face and thin body. Later on, she wears her hair short, with a dyed teal braid running down one side of her face. She has a headband and piercings in one ear, and wears a green-gray cardigan over a striped blue shirt.

In late 2017, Bonnie's friend Klair Marsh returns home from college for a mysterious visit, and she and her friends wind up discovering the Albin House, triggering the events of Ghost House 1.

PERSONALITY

She's portrayed as somebody who is very proper, preferring to go about things in a pacifist way and utilizing diplomacy instead of violence. Bonnie tries to avoid a fight as much as she can, to the point of rolling over and surrendering rather than hurting someone. She comes off as very anxious for this trait, hesitating to actually speak her mind even when she's asked for it. Bonnie's self confidence is rather low, as she feels like she's at a worse place in life than she planned to be, and she isn't sure how to get to where she wants to be. Bonnie's very clever, though, and she pays a lot of attention to those around her, allowing her to notice things that other people may brush off as nothing to care about.

Bonnie gets annoyed and creeped out very easily, as evidenced by her reaction to being in the House as well as Issac Johnson's teasing throughout the adventure. She never truly gets mad at her friends, though, no matter how much they may poke her. She's only comfortable bantering with them and losing her prim and proper front, at least somewhat, around them. Bonnie worries that if she comes off as slovenly and less formal then she'll be seen as stupid and not so well off, the latter of which is true.

As time goes on, Bonnie grows to be more confident, and when she's shown in Ghost House 2, she's a very capable and determined personality. While she still retains the side of her that wants to hear what others need from her, she decides how to go about helping to fulfill these requests, and sometimes outright rejects what she can't do.

TIMELINE

Pre-GH I

Born as the eldest child of three, Bonnie takes responsibility for her younger siblings from day one. Her parents aren't home very often, so it's typically just her and her siblings alone, which leads itself to needing to be very creative in taking care of oneself and others. Bonnie threw herself into her school studies from an early age, since her father emphasizes a lot to her that getting good grades is the key to success in her future, which she takes extremely seriously for a third grader.

As she works her way through middle school, picking up some tutoring sessions for other kids to get extra money for her to save up, Bonnie is pretty lonely. She continues her tutoring business into high school, which is how she hears about Klair through a client. While she's too shy to approach them at first, Bonnie finally decides to do so halfway through freshman year, and the two become friends. This incident introduces Bonnie to Issac and Leon Bravo as well.

When they graduate from high school, Klair heads off to lawyer school, and Bonnie's left alone again. She picks up a job at the local library, saving up money to attend college for business, her father's recommendation. A couple of years after this starts, Klair surprises Bonnie by coming home again, inviting her out to go get drinks with the old gang.

Post-GH I

The events that follow Ghost House I are done on an assumed "release" ending, the most canon of the endings.

While she declines actually travelling around the country to hunt down Houses with her friends, Bonnie acts as their home-base researcher while they're out on the road. She uses her librarian position to research potential Houses for the crew, identifying who lived there and what happened to them in order to help her team be prepared for dismantling these locations. On some occasions, she does get talked into accompanying them to Houses to dismantle together, if they're close enough to home for her to not miss work.

She gets romantically involved with Klair not long before the events of Ghost House 2. When Klair's mental state begins deteriorating due to the Albin House still existing, Bonnie does her best to support them. She's reluctant to go after Bai when they run off to finish the Albin House for good, but she has to.

RELATIONSHIPS

Klair Marsh

From the beginning, Bonnie has had romantic feelings for Klair - despite not acting on them for a very long time, she developed a crush since high school. She admires Klair, and thinks they're very caring and kind to her. She appreciates all the patience they show her, especially since she has trouble with anxiety.

Before Ghost House 2, Bonnie and Klair start dating.

Leon Bravo

Of everyone in the group, Leon's probably Bonnie's second-closest friend. She finds his advice very practical, and enjoys the insights he brings to problems she encounters, pointing out things she would never think about and solutions she's surprised to realize. She respects Leon greatly, and wonders why the hell he's dating Issac.

He inspired her in many ways, including prompting her to explore her own gender identity.

Lucien Bai

She doesn't start on the right foot with Bai, considering the circumstances of their first meeting - but, over the course of the adventure and later activities around Houses, Bonnie grows to enjoy Bai's company a lot. She finds them interesting, and she enjoys hearing about what they used to do before they'd encountered the Albin House.

Sometimes she gets a little jealous of their relationship with Klair, but she doesn't act on anything.

Issac Johnson

At first, Bonnie doesn't necessarily get along with Issac, given how different the two are. She thinks he enjoys poking fun at her, and she wishes he wasn't so abrasive with his jokes and comments. Bonnie finds a good groove to this issue over time, though, finding a balance where she can be witty right back at him without letting him ruffle her feathers.

She's bewildered that Leon wants to marry this guy, to be honest. She doesn't see what he sees.

Jason Marsh

Bonnie didn't have a lot of interactions with Jason until high school, though she did know of him through the fact of growing up in a small town. She babysat him a few times, and she mentions that he'd asked her to show him how to make latkes for his Boy Scout troop once in Ghost House 1. Bonnie seems to have nothing but warm feelings about the kid.

She feels terrible for Klair and Jason's situation, and wishes it wasn't Jason in that playroom.

TRIVIA

Bonnie's favorite book is Shel Silverstein's Where the Sidewalk Ends.

She's a vegan, mostly because she just prefers vegetables to meat.

Her other siblings know she's transgender, but her parents do not.
